Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival
Building multicultural inclusion and understanding between people

Celebrating our diversity
The Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival is a great way to bring the community together, and to highlight the importance of cultural diversity.
It is an opportunity to learn about different cultures by enjoying traditional performances, sampling food and understanding more about a friend’s culture by getting involved in the many activities.
The Festival is a unique family event that will inspire members of our community to embrace our shared values and cultural traditions at a grassroots level.
Launched in August 2018, the Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival will be organised annually as a partnership between the Children’s Festival Organisation and Rainbow Crossing Inc.
The Children’s Festival Organisation was founded by a Vietnamese refugee Thuat Nguyen OAM, who had the vision that “children who played together lived together in harmony”.
“We believe that children are a starting point in building social cohesion and therefore this festival is our best way to create harmony in our community and to make everyone feel proud to be Australians”, Thuat Nguyen OAM says.
Moving Forward Together is another partner in delivering the Festival again. MFT’s founder Ernie Freidlander feels that Festivals like this were “essential in creating a culture of anti-racism”.
